Align with Love
I’ve been thinking this month about what it means to align with the cosmic source of love that is available outside and within us. There are infinite ways to do it, but one way is to deliberately contemplate aligning with the fullest expression of the light side of each of our survival archetypes.
A quick reminder-- the four survival archetypes, according to Caroline Myss n her book Sacred Contracts, are the Victim, the Saboteur, the Negotiator (Prostitute) and the Child. In the light, these archetypes are called the Guardians of Self-Esteem, Choice, Faith and Innocence.
The Guardian of Self-Esteem empowers herself by taking responsibility for the circumstances in her life, holds appropriate boundaries when necessary, and ultimately overflows with compassion for the world.
The Guardian of Choice makes the choices that move her toward her goals and understands her purpose is to endlessly create expanded versions of herself that bring increasing degrees of healing and light to all of humanity.
The Guardian of Faith pushes her expanded visions of what she and humanity are capable of out in front of her every thought and action, trusting that the manifestation of divine harmony is a byproduct of living according to higher spiritual values and integrity.
The Guardian of Innocence takes a journey of maturation from naivety to sovereignty, allowing her to circle back to delight, play and innocence while compassionately holding the shadow and light within every human interaction.
Imagine that each and all of this is within and available for us to connect with and to rely upon. How divine is that?!?
It’s a tall order to believe we could fully embody any of these archetypes in our lifetimes, however, what we can do is be as truthful as we can about how we’re showing up, and make it a point to regularly review our thoughts and actions so that we can make adjustments where there might room for better alignment. The highest expressions of these archetypes, then, are bestowed on us by grace once we develop the consistent practice to act on the world with humility, responsibility, kindness, integrity, etc.
Aligning with love is a fun, creative, dynamic process. Yes, we can see beyond our reactive, default patterns to create something better for our lives!
