The last of the Survivor Archetypes, as outlined in Caroline Myss’ book Sacred Contracts, is the Child. In my opinion, if you’ve worked with the previous three, the Victim, the Saboteur and the Prostitute, you already have a sense of how the Child is present in your life.

How many of you have ever set your alarm so that you could get up early and exercise before going to work? And then hit snooze so many times the time for exercise passed?

The beloved Prostitute archetype, another of the four Survivor archetypes as outlined in Caroline Myss’ book Sacred Contracts, often gets a bad rap because of her name. Who would want to associate themselves with her?

As the Victim begins to evolve, she takes on a Warrior quality, developing boundaries with both her own destructive thought patterns as well as with others, changing her language to a clear “I will not allow” anyone, including herself, to treat her a way that is unloving.

The Warrior’s boundaries clear the path for the Guardian of Self-Esteem.
